|Barbadian Art at its Best||
The Artist says...
When I encounter people asking what should they REALLY be doing with their lives, I am incredibly grateful to know with certainty that I am doing exactly what I was meant to do in my own life.
Painting and helping others, and creating something beautiful and interesting is my life's work.
Ron Cumberbatch, born 1951 in the little Caribbean island of Barbados, the easternmost island in the Lesser Antilles. The island is 34 kilometres in length and 23 kilometres in width, covering an area of 432 square kilometres with a population of 286,066 . The island boasts of the most amazing white sandy beaches and sunshine all year round.
Ron's work is a reflection of his vast experience of over 30 years as a graphic artist. His keen eye for detail and his rich, vivid colors capture the essence of his creations.
Oil on canvas is his preference, although he sometimes works in acrylic. He has no restrictions and enjoys painting landscapes, seascapes and anything that inspires him. He is especially drawn to every-day Barbadian culture and has a passion for human expression.
Most of his work is created from his own photography, appreciating the natural beauty and appeal of each subject. He uses these studies as the basis for his works.
Ron believes that art can be used as a tool to turn houses into homes and to bring happiness into the hearts of others.
Commissioned paintings can also be arranged, recreating your special scene, landscape or your favorite portrait on to canvas. Just give him a photo of the subject or you can choose from his wide selection of photographs.
Quality prints can also be purchased from some of his work to your specified size.
Paintings are available for viewing from the artist on request.
